Artsy – Make all the world’s art accessible to anyone with an Internet connection.

I was recently contacted by Artsy representative Rebecca who found me through B.Y.O.B whilst she was researching Rafael Rozendaal. I guess that’s how and what the Internet is all about.

Rebecca kindly asked if I could include a little something about Artsy on my site. Virtual networking and all that…

Interested as I was, I checked them out and it seems like a decent cause. Further investigation and reading of the small print is ever advisable and is required but I said I would link them and so here I am doing just that!

Please take the time and have a sniff around their site and read about their mission. Here’s a quote taken directly from them.

Artsy features the world’s leading galleries, museum collections, foundations, artist estates, art fairs, and benefit auctions, all in one place. Our growing database of 800,000 images of art, architecture, and design by 80,000 artists spans historical, modern, and contemporary works, and includes the largest online database of contemporary art. Artsy is used by art lovers, museum-goers, patrons, collectors, students, and educators to discover, learn about, and collect art.

Clearly there is still a vast amount of work to be done, ensuring and providing people with Internet connections, especially in hard to reach rural areas, as well as maintaining and open and ‘free’ Internet.

Thoughts and ideas are powerful things to share.
